John Cody Carter’s CD, Don’t You Think It’s
Time, answers its question with its music. Yes, it is time
for a new traditional country music CD that is pure classic
country music.
"Don’t You Think It’s Time" features
fourteen songs written in the classic country style of Merle
Haggard, Willie Nelson and Hank Cochran (“I Fall To
Pieces,” “Make The World Go Away”). In fact,
Hank Cochran co-wrote five songs with Cody on "Don’t
You Think It’s Time", and Merle Haggard wrote
the CD’s liner notes, giving the CD his full endorsement.
The CD’s first single, “Let’s Stop Right
Where We Are,” reached #24 on the Texas Music Chart. The
second single "Don't Walk Out On Me" went to #23 on the Texas
Music Chart. Both songs enjoyed over five months in the top 50
of the Texas Music Chart.
John Cody Carter had already toured most of the United States
by the time he was eighteen, beginning his performing career
as a drummer with his mom’s band when he was just nine years old.
Cody at age 12 performed as a drummer, guitar player and
singer on several weekly Northern California Country Music
Television shows including "Forty Grand Country"
and
"The Morris Taylor Show".
Cody’s first songwriting contract was with Merle Haggard’s
"Inorbit Publishing" and by 1990 he penned his first
top 40 single on the country music charts. Cody’s
chart success opened doors in Nashville and he moved there
with a new songwriting contract and an eventual recording
contract with Warner Bros. Records A&R VP Doug Grau. Cody
and Doug’s relationship continues today as Doug heads
Yell Records operation. As an entertainer, Cody equally combines
his passion for songwriting, performing and recording.
Don’t You Think It’s Time, produced by Gregg Brown
and John Cody Carter, is available now at www.johncodycarter.com
