By this time I had been studying the Bible diligently for
10 years. I had completed the discipleship training course
by Skip Heitzig, and his leadership classes. I began to read
classic authors as well as every
book by Chuck Smith (Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa) that I could get my hands on and went
through Chuck's verse by verse tape series through the Bible.
Some of my favorite authors are Warren Wiersbe, Charles
Spurgeon, Alan Redpath, G. Campbell Morgan, John
Walvoord, Walter Martin, Henry Morris, John Foxe, J.
Vernon Mcgee, A.W. Tozier, Gayle Erwin and Skip Heitzig.
The songwriter publishing deals
that I enjoyed for the next 8 years supplied me with good
finances and ample time to do ministry at Calvary Chapel Franklin
as well as pursue my Bible studies. I took David Hockings
Calvary Chapel Bible College Soteriology, and Homiletics courses.
I completed the Inductive Bible Study course with
instructor John Michaels at the GospeI for Asia training
center in Dallas Texas.
I am still like a sponge, I can’t get
enough of studying the Bible. It is my greatest passion to
study the Word of God and to better know its Author.
In 1998 the Lord put it on my heart to start a home fellowship
teaching verse by verse through the books of the Bible. The
Lord blessed it and it began to outgrow our living room.
There was a point in time that I knew that the Lord was
clearly speaking to my heart to plant a church. I felt like
the least person for God to use to plant a church.
Through many Scriptures the Lord confirmed His calling
in my heart. In a few
short years God has grown us from a home fellowship into a church
of 100 people and growing.
I continue teaching through the Bible
Verse by Verse and never cease to be in awe of how God
radically changes lives through the simple study of His
Word.
I really encourage you to make it a habit
of reading through the Bible Verse by Verse, Chapter by
Chapter and Book by Book.
My Life verse is John 15:5 "I am the vine
and you are the branches, He who abides in me and I in
him bears much fruit, for without me, You can do nothing."
For me this sums up the true Christian experience. It
has been my experience that all true blessing, joy, and
peace flows from intimacy with Jesus Christ and
obedience to His written Word.
